The Washington Commanders have suspended an employee following controversial remarks made about the team's players and NFL figures. The employee, Rael Enteen, vice president of content with the organization for four years, made comments to an undercover reporter from the O’Keefe Media Group, alleging that some players were anti-gay, accusing Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones of being racist and anti-gay, and calling NFL commissioner Roger Goodell a "$50 million puppet." According to the media group, Enteen met the reporter through the dating app Hinge and spoke with her twice at restaurants in Washington, D.C., in June. "The language used in the video runs counter to our values at the Commanders organization," a team spokesperson said, noting that Enteen has been suspended pending an investigation. In the video, Enteen stated that "over 50% of our roster is white religious, and God says, 'F--- the gays.' Their interpretation. I don't buy any of that." He also described a significant portion of the team as "low-income African Americans that come from a community that is inherently very homophobic." Enteen went on to claim that some players are "dumb as hell" and suggested that repeated head injuries make them more susceptible to conspiracy theories. Enteen criticized Jones and the NFL's leadership, suggesting that Jones, not Goodell, truly runs the league and holds racist and anti-gay views. He dismissed the NFL's social justice initiatives as "performative" and financially motivated, stating that the league prioritizes profit above all else.
