LB Devin Harper Tackles (2021): 60 solo tackles, 95 total tackles Impact Plays (2021): 11 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 1 pass deflection, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries Physical Skills Evaluation: Range: Doesn’t have an elite second gear, and that hurts his range and closing ability on blitzes. Capable of being responsible for a quarter of the field when he is assigned to the flats, but not much else. Processing Speed: Can be fooled by misdirection and anticipate the ball going the wrong way. Doesn’t consistently keep contain on read options. Can be slow to commit to going on the rush, or dropping into pass coverage, this likely is due to him being slow to locate the football. Tackling: Generally, a sure tackler has some lapses of arm tackles. Doesn’t take on contact well, and can get ran over from time to time. Toughness/Power @ POA: Doesn’t attack with a lot of power and can get driven off the line of scrimmage by tight ends. Versatility: It’s tough to gauge his long-term projection, he seems like he would be an ideal sub-package player, but his coverage ability needs some major improvements. Perhaps he can find a role on special teams that makes him valuable, but right now he is not a player you would want playing significant snaps for your team.
