DESCRIPTION
November 11, 2021 Dallas Cowboys rookie linebacker Micah Parsons is the first player in NFL history to record 50 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and five sacks in the first eight games of a career, according to NFL Network’s Bobby Belt. Parsons is coming off a strong performance in Dallas’ 30-16 loss to Denver on Sunday where he racked up 10 tackles and three TFLs. "It all starts with details throughout the week," Parsons said after the game. "Coach Q (Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn) puts a lot of time with me throughout the week: dial-up rush plans, dialing up individual time with me. So I think each week I'm getting better and better and learning more about being a pass rusher, timing, things like that. I think it's just growing for me and it's going to keep adding to our game plan." Parsons and the Dallas defense will have their hands full with Matt Ryan and an improving Atlanta Falcons offense. They will need to have a bounce-back performance after Denver gashed the Dallas defense with big plays in the vertical passing attack and a punishing run game. "Obviously it was a much longer game for us, but we've got to find a way to get off the field. There's no excuse for that," Parsons said. "There's things that we practiced on and we didn't execute. That's the thing, you can have a game plan, everything can be right throughout the week but at the end of the day you have to go out there and execute and dominate and I don't think we were able to do that." Parsons could match up with Atlanta’s prized rookie tight end Kyle Pitts, who has dazzled this season with 36 receptions for 546 yards and a touchdown. Parsons and Pitts have ties dating back to their high school days in Pennsylvania. "He's a unicorn-like me," Parsons told reporters Wednesday via USA TODAY's Jori Epstein. The Cowboys and Falcons will kick at noon CT from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and the game will be televised on FOX. The Cowboys had won six straight games before the loss to Denver in Week 9. The Falcons, meanwhile, are coming off a 27-25 win at the New Orleans Saints this past Sunday, putting the team back at .500 (4-4) on the year. https://247sports.com/Article/Dallas-Cowboys-rookie-LB-Micah-Parsons-makes-history-175037589/
