Washington's trip to Philly has been flexed to Sunday night Had Washington gotten it done against the Panthers on Sunday, then their Week 17 matchup with the Eagles would've been meaningless. Hell, they could've rested their starters in order to heal up before the playoffs. Because they came up short, though — like, three feet short of the hole on a five-foot putt — they'll have to earn a playoff berth by winning in Philly. And now, that NFC East clash will air on national TV and serve as the league's 256th of 256 regular-season games. A few hours after the Carolina loss, the NFL opted to flex Washington-Philadelphia into Week 17's Sunday night slot on NBC. It'll be the Burgundy and Gold's first true primetime opportunity of 2020. Their Thanksgiving victory in Dallas and Monday triumph in Pittsburgh were more late-afternoon/early-evening affairs. The adjustment either sets Ron Rivera's club up for an epic conclusion to their schedule — think back to 2012 when RG3 and Alfred Morris feasted in a similar scenario or 2015 when Kirk Cousins and company won the division in Philly on a Saturday night — or for an especially disappointing end. What could go wrong? So much about the contest still needs to be figured out, including who's going to play QB for Washington. That seems fairly important. But at the very least, you now know that kickoff will occur at 8:20 p.m. on NBC and you'll be feeling one of two ways come early Monday morning.
