Rookie wide receiver CeeDee Lamb caught six passes for 106 yards in Sunday’s win, becoming the 12th Cowboys rookie to get 100 yards receiving in a game. It was the 16th time in franchise history that a rookie got 100 receiving yards in a game.
“It was a proud moment for me, and I’m sure it was a proud moment for him,” said Amari Cooper, who caught six passes for 100 yards.
Cooper informed Lamb of his accomplishment when he noticed the stats being displayed on the video board above midfield.
Lamb was particularly impressive in the fourth quarter when he caught three passes for 50 yards, including a 24-yarder on the game-winning drive. It was Lamb’s final catch of the day, and it moved the Cowboys from their 46 to the Falcons 30. It helped set up a game-winning kick by Greg Zuerlein.
“Just me being able to kind of protect my body,” Lamb said. “I’m thinking longevity, not just for myself but for my team. [Just] trying to put my kicker in the best position to get the best opportunity to win the game.”
