Goodwin's Return Means More Than CB Depth
he Cowboys continue to add secondary depth in the wake of Byron Jones' departure to the Dolphins.
Cornerback C.J. Goodwin has agreed to terms on a one-year deal that will bring him back to Dallas for a third season. The 30-year-old has appeared in 19 games over the past two years
in a reserve role.
Goodwin's greatest value has been on special teams. He led the Cowboys with 10 special teams tackles last season and has been a core contributor since 2018. His return is an important
piece for new coordinator John Fassel.
The Cowboys reached deals with cornerbacks Anthony Brown and Maurice Canady earlier this week.
