Dallas Cowboys Film Session on Michael Gallup vs New Orleans Saints

#MG13 The Cowboys went after former Giants cornerback Eli Apple in the first half against the Saints. Apple primarily defended Cowboys rookie receiver Michael Gallup in the first half. Gallup had three catches for 67 yards against Apple in the first quarter, including a 40-yard grab down the left sideline on the opening possession that led to a 26-yard Brett Maher field goal. Apple was called for three penalties in the first quarter trying to defend Gallup. He was flagged for defensive pass interference once and defensive holding twice. Only one of the penalties -- a defensive holding - was accepted because Gallup made the catch on the other two plays. Head coach Jason Garrett was asked after the game about taking advantage of Apple in the passing game. "We're really just focused on what we need to do," Garrett said. "We believe in our receivers and we saw some things in their coverages that we felt we could take advantage of. "Dak [Prescott] did a really good job just reading things out and throwing to the right guy. And he made some big-time throws. It wasn't perfect throughout the game, but over and over and over again, he made big-time plays at critical moments. That was important for us."
